P90X/running

Let me first say that I am upset with myself. I am not going to finish the P90X (at least not this time). My back started hurting, so I took a couple of days off which turned into 10 days. Now I am still going to be doing some of the workouts, but have decided to start running as well. I really miss the running (I thought I would never say that). I decided to run a 5K with 6 of my friends the end of July. So since I have not run since the half in April, I figured I better get back to hitting the pavement. So this is my workout for the next 6 weeks. Running Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday. Monday will do P90X core & Friday will do P90X either Cardio or Kenpo. And then I will also do the ab ripper X on Tuesday & Thursday. I think this will still get me working out and ready for the race in July.

Running

So I have one week until my first race since I got pregnant. I am super excited, but a little nervous. I have been running 3 days a week relgiously since I was released to workout. And looking back at that first week when I was 'running' a mile, I never would have thought I would be where I am now. I have made it a point to do my last 5 runs before the race outside. I ran my 3 miles last night and actually ran almost all of it, but maybe 10-20 seconds. I am still not loving my time. But my pace is better then it was when I ran the half last year. I have 2 more runs before race day.

Workout Update

I am now in week 4 of working out and feeling pretty good. I will give an update on the complete week when it is over, but wanted to fill you in a bit. As you may know, I signed up for my 1st race since getting pregnant. I will be running a the Turkey Trout 5K on Thanksgiving morning. That would be 2 weeks from today. I ran 3 miles on Tuesday and it was not pretty. I was frustrated and it was a struggle to finish. I am still doing the 30 day shred video as well (when the little guy lets me). I moved up to level 2 last night on the shred and let me tell you...OMG. It was hard, but felt great. I wish that I would have started it last week.

On a somewhat different not. Some memebers of my family have been doing a biggest losser challenge. When I was able to workout, I decided to join in on the challenge. I won't tell you my weight, but I will tell you that I have lost 2lbs since I started 3 weeks ago. So good to see the hardword paying off on the scale as well as how better I feel. So untill next week.

Workout-week 3

I have completed my 3rd week of working out and my 1st week back to work. That has been the challenge, because I don't get home until almost 6 and all I want to do is spend time with Lucas. Lucky for me, my workouts each day only take about 30 minutes. I started running 2 miles this week and it was tough. I do manage to take some time off each day that run, but would like a better time. My last run of the week was Saturday outside and I ran it in 29.35. Running outside is so much better than on the treadmill. Working on my first race back, a 5K on Thanksgiving morning.

Workout-Week 2

I finished my 2nd week of working out and it felt great. I ran a mile 3 times, push up challenge & 3 days of shredding. My time is still improving and I even ran outside Saturday with the jogging stroller. It was tough, but I was only about 1 minute behind my time on Thursday. This was a crazy weekend, so day 3 of the pushups was completed last night.

This week will be the real challenge with gonig back to work, working out and spending time with family. More to come later

Workout-week 1

I started working out last Monday and even though I have not lost any weight yet, I feel great. Started out Monday with a little Wii Fit and then the 100 push up challenge. Tuesday & Thursday I ran on the treadmill, only 1 mile but I have to start somewhere. Wednesday & Friday I just did the push up challenge and then Saturday I went for a mile run outside. Still not a great time, but I pushed myself more outside and took 2 minutes off my time from the treadmill. This week I plan on starting Jillian's 30 day shred and my plan is Monday, Wednesday, Friday-shred & push up challenge and then Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday will run 1 mile each day.

I am going to increase my running each week by 1 mile for the next 3 weeks and then work on my time. I am going to shoot for running a 5K on Thanksgiving morning out in Chesterfield and then maybe a 10K in January. I don't think I have every been this motivated to workout before and it feels great. I have an awesome support system in my husband & my girls.

Workout

I am so excited that I have been released from the doctor to workout. It has been a long time and I can't believe I am saying this, but I am super excited to be able to workout and run again. Now I know that I can't just jump in and be able to run right away. I have to work up to it, but at least I can start. Just so happens that a good friend of mine send out a new challenge today for all the girls. So what better way to start my workout routine, then a little challenge. It is 100 push up in 6 weeks and is designed to build your strength. For the complete plan, click here.

So today I am going to start with a little Wii Fit and then day 1 of the challenge. Soon, I will be ready for the GO St Louis Half in April.

Half Marathon

So I have finally done it. Stan & I are going to run a half marathon in September. Now you may be thinking we are crazy, but what better way to get back in shape. This way, I have the motivation to run because I have a goal to reach. Yes, I know when you workout you should always have a goal. But it is just so hard to be motivated sometimes. Both of us have been running for almost 2 months just to get ourselves ready for the actually training. And that starts today. So I will try my hardest to keep you updated on my/our progress as the weeks do on. 11 weeks till race day, September 13.

Week 1:
Beginning of training-ran 3 miles in about 34 minutes=11.10 a mile. Not the best time, but I am just starting.
