Closing-Race

I know I have not posted anything in a couple of weeks, but I just am not sure where the time has gone. The training is going very well and we are starting to shorten the runs each day. 2 weeks ago I ran 12 miles and actually made it through. It was tough, but I did it. This last sunday I ran 9 miles and actually ran the entire thing. I was very shocked and was sure that I would hit that "wall", but I did not. And it was actually a good run. I finish in 1 hour 42 minutes, about 11.20 per mile. So the race is in 2 1/2 weeks and I am starting to get excited.

Now for the house news. We are 3 weeks (from yesterday) away from our closing on the new house. I am super excited and ready for the day to be here. Everything seems to going pretty well, which means something is bound to happen. That just always seems to be our luck. We will be painting and cleaning before we move anything in. So anyone that wants or can help, we would greatly appreciate & welcome it. I will try to take pictures when we do our final walk through and after closing. But in the mean time, here is a picture from the listing.

Half Marathon Week 5

Now I know I did not post my Week 4 updates, but we had some technical difficulties. Internt was not working and my Ipod was not working and that is what keeps track of my time for me. So here is Week 5 updates.

Tuesday-4 miles=11.06 per mile
Thursday-5 miles=11.00 per mile
Friday-4 miles=11.24 per mile
Sunday-11 miles=11.36 per mile

The 11 miles yesterday about killed me, but I made it and only have to run 2.1 more miles to complete a half marathon. And I even had a better time than Stan. I was shocked when we compaired our numbers. We are officialy 5 weeks from the race and I am feeling pretty good. So till next week.

Half Marathon-Week 3

So week 3 of training is complete and it was actually not to bad. I know training/workouts are supposed to get easier as the weeks go by, but I was not sure about this. So here is how the week went.

Tuesday-3 miles
Thursday-4 miles
Friday-3 miles
Sunday-6 miles-11.24 per mile

I was pretty stocked with myself, I ran 6 miles in 1 hour 8 minutes. Just 4 minutes behind Stan's time that morning. Considering my legs are much shorter, not too bad. Once I got past the 1st 1.5 miles, it was pretty easy. And I actually feel pretty good today. Now we will see what tomorrow brings, but I have tomorrow again. I never thought I would say this, but on Friday I told someone that I was running 'only' 3 miles. If you would have told me a couple of months ago that I would have to run 3 miles, I would thought you were crazy. So onto week 4.

Half Marathon-Week 2

So 2 weeks down and somehow I am still alive. So this week got a little gumbled up because we went to look at houses on Tuesday & Friday. And I can't remember all of my times. So bare with me here.

Wednesday-3 miles
Thursday-4 miles
Saturday-5 miles-11.54 per mile
I will admit I had to walk for some of this, that is why the time is a little higher then last week. But hey, I completed it.
Sunday-0 miles
I was supposed to run 3 miles on Sunday, but with all the painting and house hunting it just did not happen. In the whole sceme of things, I don't think that missing 1 3 mile run in the 2nd week is going to hurt me. So this week, I will be running 16 miles total. I will let you know next week if I make it.

Half Marathon-Week 1

Well I am done with the 1st week of training for our half marathon training. It actually was not too bad. But of course the longest that I had to run was 4 miles. So here is the breakdown of my running times.

Tuesday-3 miles-11.10 per mile
Thursday-3miles-11.24 per mile
Friday-3 miles-11.04 per mile
Sunday-4 miles-11.07 per mile

And I have to say, I am only about 20 seconds or so behind Stan per mile. And his legs are way longer than mine. So 1 week done, 9 to go.

Half Marathon

So I have finally done it. Stan & I are going to run a half marathon in September. Now you may be thinking we are crazy, but what better way to get back in shape. This way, I have the motivation to run because I have a goal to reach. Yes, I know when you workout you should always have a goal. But it is just so hard to be motivated sometimes. Both of us have been running for almost 2 months just to get ourselves ready for the actually training. And that starts today. So I will try my hardest to keep you updated on my/our progress as the weeks do on. 11 weeks till race day, September 13.

Week 1:
Beginning of training-ran 3 miles in about 34 minutes=11.10 a mile. Not the best time, but I am just starting.
