My husband

So my fun and exciting Monday evening consited of going through my pictures on the computer and deleting the duplicates and putting them in the right folder. So I know what they heck they are and when they are from. So as I was going through the pictures I came across this great picture of my husband. If you know Stan at all, you know he is a complete goofball. This picture trully shows how much of a goofball he is. This was taking last spring at the Festus Intermediate 5th grade talent show. Every year the 5th grade kids are part of a talent show and Stan will usually DJ it as well as put on some type of performance for the kids. This year he managed to convince the rest of the 5th grade class to also perform. Stan has the weird talent of taking a song and changing the words to match the beat. So the teachers created a rock band and sang a special song just for the kids. So here is the band "Toxic Teachers".

So I couldn't find the youtube video of their performance, but here is the 5th grade teachers first with the addition of the rest of the teachers doing a dance revolution. Again, Stan is the one in the acting like a fool and the one in orange on the far left is the principle. I wish I had teachers/principles like this when I was in school.

Monday Morning

Have I ever told you that I HATE mondays? Well I do and to top it off, we are starting registration today. Now it is much better than it used to be. The university has gone to an online registration and this would be the second time we have had online. Before, our office had to enroll every student by hand which become very annoying. The students would line up outside the night before because they thought they would have a better chance to get in the classes. And then we had to hear them complain when a class was closed and they had to have the class.

So anyway, we have online which is better but still annoying. So we hear the complaning from the students who cannot log in or their advisor has forgotten to approve them to register. Very annoying. Okay, I'm done ranting for now. Till next time.

Bathroom Fun

So Monday nights I am home by myself because Stan has classes and then he will usually stay at his parents in St Charles. The drive is much shorter to work the next day. So about 7:30 last night I went to use the bathroom and the light would not turn on. I thought that was pretty weird and then I looked up and say the light fixture over the mirror hanging down barely holding on by one wire. So I freak and run downstairs to flip the switch on the breaker box so the house would not catch on fire. That would be my luck. Thankfully it did not break the mirror or any of the bulbs (at least not yet). So I'm trying to figure out what I do with this problem and run outside to try and find a screwdriver and try and at least put it back up there even if it is not wired and I hear it crash to the floor. By some grace of god, only 2 of the light bulbs broke. So I can't call Stan because he is in class and not sure what to do. When all else falls, call your mom. And of course she was not home. Well I managed to clean up the light bulbs that broke and Stan ending up getting out of class early so he came home. When he looked at it closer he realized the problem. The idiot that made the thing put plastic brackets on it. How stupid. So it is still not fixed, Stan is going to get some metal brackets, but everyone is okay and there was not a fire. Well I was so freaked last night that I did not get a picture of it, but will try when I get home tonight. It was a site to see.

Facebook

So I'm not on the computer much at home because I'm on the computer all day at work. So most of the time when I check Facebook, I'm at work. Which as never been a problem until yesterday. Someone found out that a LU staff member has over 200 LU students as friends on facebook. And they are not even using for work/school purposes. So because of that, they have blocked facebook now. Talk about suckiness (not sure if that is a word). I mean how stupid can you be? So because one person is stupid, we all have to suffer. They have blocked it before and then turned it back on, so maybe after some time I will be able to get back on. But until then, I will feel so very distant from my facebook friends.

5 weeks till vacation

So with all this cold weather all I can do is think about our vacation. And with some advice from Stan, instead of counting days until we leave, I am counting weeks. Counting days just seem to take too long. Some of you may know, but Stan & I won a free cruise on our last cruise last summer. So it makes this cruise even better and hopefully cheaper. We are taking our free cruise leaving from Tampa and cruising to Belize City and Costa Maya. With our vacation getting closer it has given that extra push that I have needed in order to loose some weight and get back in shape. My ultimate goal is to loss 40 pounds but would like to loss 10-15 by the time we leave. I started the new circuit workout 2 weeks ago and lost 3 pounds this week. Yeah!!!

Learn a Little Link a Lot (from Rachel)

I thought it would be fun to post Learn A Little, Link A Lot!
What is this, you ask?
This is a post to allow all of us bloggers to get to know each other a little better.
Here is what you do:
1. Post 10 things about yourself.
2. Post 5 blogs that you really enjoy to go to.
3. Post 1 thing that you received for FREE lately that you are really excited about!
4. Come back here and post on Mr. Linky so we can all learn a little bit about you.
If you don't have a blog, please post a comment here with your things.I would love to know a little more about all you wonderful people!
(Please don't post things that will make you a target for spam or otherwise not nice people.)

10 things about myself:
1) They always say that you will marry your father and I actually did (in some ways) My dad was a teacher and I married a teacher.
2) I deathly afraid of semitrucks on the highway. I am not sure why, but always have been scared of them.
3) I am sort of a daredevil...I am always the one that has the stupid ideas and will do them like cliff jumping or sky diving.
4) I hope one day that Stan will be able to make good money so that I can stay at home with the kids (when we have them). But am sure that will not happen. Remember he is a teacher.
5) I am a control freak at work. I would rather do something myself then have to fix what someone else did because it was not the way I would do it.
6) On top of being a control freak, I am a neat freak at work. I hate my desk being messy, but don't mind when the house is messy.
7) I own the same car as my brother, 2004 Jeep Liberty. When I say same, I mean everything, inside and out including the color. It was actually Stan's first and then we traded in mine for a new car and I got the Jeep.
8) I am addicted to reality TV. I watch everything from Surviver to Jon & Kate plus 8. I record them so I can fastforward throught the commercials.
9) I am kinda afraid of turning 30. I am not even 29 yet and already dreading the big 30. Maybe it will be better next year.
10) I have tattoo on the lower part of my back (and no it is not a tramp stamp) and now understand why those who get a tattoo want to get more. I will pass on some advice, if you ever think of getting one, think good and hard and make it meaningful because it will always be there.

5 blogs that I follow-well I really don't follow many, but will list those that I do follow.
1) His, Mine & Ours-Rachel
2) Happy Hills-Jamie
3) future Mrs Wunderlich-Kathy
4) My Personal Bio-Deandra
Like I said I don't follow many, but might have to steal some from Rachel. She has some good ones

What I received free lately:
I don't know if it classified as free, but my bank ran a promotion in December that you can skip the December car payment, (it gets added onto the end of the loan). So that was nice, helped out with Christmas and personal property taxes.

Ash Wednesday

So for those of you that are Christian/Catholic know that yesterday was Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. Stan & I went to our church for the mass and wow what a homily. Now I am not going to preach about my faith and about how you should go to church and now is the time to start. But I just have to put in to words what I was feeling last night and how I am going to try to approach this Lent.

Lent is supposed to be the time of prayer and penance as we prepare for Easter. Growing up I was always asked to give up something during Lent and that way I would understand what Jesus went through for us. But I really never understood the meaning. I then came out of church last night with a whole new appreciation for Lent. Fr Ed was so passionate about his homily it almost made me cry. He spoke those words we hear ever year "for dust you are and dust you will return." It does not matter what treasures you have now for you will return to dust. But it is that faith you have that will lead you to a better life. So instead of giving up something this Lent, I am going to strive to not only be a better person, but a better Catholic. Help those that need it, pray more and strengthen my relationship with God and others.

"A great Lent can really make you miserable. You give up things you enjoy. You do without excesses. You practice charity to people you'd rather ignore. You cut back on sweets or caffeine, nicotine or alcohol, or meat, or dairy. You break your routine and the results are usually the same. Within 48 hours after Lent begins, you get grumpy. But a good Lent can really make you happy. You find out what your cravings are. You strongly put them aside because your craving for God is deeper. God responds to your search and rewards you with a closer union. You end the season more confortable at prayer, more giving to others, less attached to material things."
