New House

We finally closed on the new house last Thursday. Yeah!!! We are now taking on the task of painting the upstairs and getting rid of the yellow and red. I don't understand why people pick certain colors and do a horrible job painting. The kitchen is done and painted, ceilings painted except master bath and living room primmed ready for painting. Going back over tonight after work and Stan's parents are coming over to start on the cleaning of the rooms that are done. More updates and pictures to come.

Closing

Okay, so for a little house update. We were supposed to close yesterday on our house, but you guessed it, it has been pushed back. There were some problems with Stan's student loans and them showing the wrong graduation date. So after many phone calls, everything is good to go for closing tomorrow. We went for our final walk through last night and everything looks okay and we have a key. So we are going in tonight (don't tell anyone) to start painting. Officially we are not supposed to do this but we talked to our agent and he said not to worry about it even though "he does not know about it" (wink, wink)

I am supper excited and can't wait to have my own place again. I love my parents and am very thankful that we could stay with them, but I have had enough. I don't know how you did for so long Bridget.

I will be sure to post some pictures of before & after paint. POD is being delivered next Saturday (26th) and moving (what stuff we have) and unpacking the POD will be the 27th.

9/11-8 Years Later

As I sit at my desk listening to the names of the victims from 9/11, I reflect on the past 8 years. So much as changed not only in my person life, but all over the country. 8 years ago, I was 21 years old and just starting my junior year in college still trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. A friend of mine called me and said a plain hit one of the twin towers. I turned on the TV and sat in disbelief like so many others. I thought this could not be happening, it has to be a movie or something. As the day goes on, I see more images from New York, Washington DC & Pennsylvania. As the days passed since 9/11, we saw our country come together like I have never seen before. President Bush vowes that we will find who did this and punish them. So many people enlist in the military as a way to do something. People flocked to Ground Zero to help out any way they can.

Now 8 years later, we are still fighting a war against terrorism. Although I do not support the war, I do support our troops that have fought for our freedom and safety. I wish everyone would just remember what those people are doing for us. Not act like the women who was incovenienced because of a soldier's funeral procession. I try to live everyday to its fullest and not dwell on the little things. Today is a day to not only remember what happened on 9/11/01 but to remember what this country was built on and the people who continue to fight for us. You don't have to agree with everything our govt is trying to do, but at least support them. We are all differnt, but we are all American. God Bless America and its melting pot.
